Peter Hayward

Peter began life as a radio presenter in 2013 when he joined the ranks of Lincoln City Radio where he played music that spanned the decades. Three years later he joined Siren Radio based at The University of Lincoln. As well as presenting daily music shows, he wrote, produced and presented Mix and Match, a weekly two-hour mix of music and sport.

Chilli Jazz Radio has now given Peter and his wife Suzi the opportunity to continue broadcasting following the closure of Siren Radio. Peter’s love of jazz began in 1972 when he saw Stephane Grappelli on Parkinson. He became hooked on the sounds of swing jazz played by The Hot Club of France and was so struck by the genius of Django Reinhardt he went and bought himself a jazz guitar which he strums along to the classics such as Minor Swing and Avalon. By the way, he can only master three chords!

So, it’s on with the music once again as Peter looks forward to joining the team at Chilli Jazz for more great sounds he hopes you will like.

Suzi Hayward

Music lover, Suzi, made her broadcasting debut with The Classic Rock Show on Siren Radio but over the years has widened her repertoire to include all genres of music. Jazz favourites include Miles Davis and Kenny Ball – so expect to be entertained with some trad jazz gems when she’s behind the controls.

Suzi’s other passion is writing. As a mature student she is currently embarking on the third year of a BA (Hons) Professional and Creative Writing degree and her stories and articles have appeared in a number of local and national magazines and websites. In addition to seven years of writing, producing and presenting shows, short stories, radio plays and a radio serial for Siren Radio, Suzi has also worked as a voluntary producer/presenter on Grimsby Hospital Radio.
